The chapel was built by Bishop Kennedy to serve both the town and St. Salvator's College of St Andrews University. One legend says that the pulpit in the chapel was used by John Knox to incite the destruction of St Andrews Cathedral in 1559.

Located in the grounds of St Andrews Cathedral, the 33m tower, was probably built around 1130 as the first place of worship for the newly-arrived Augustinian canons.
Today an internal stair leads to the top to give wonderful views over St Andrews and the Fifrth of Forth.

This was a recent short video clip taken from the recently finished 3rd bedroom in Castaway Holiday Cottage looking out over the Firth of Forth. Its great to wake up in the morning and hear the waves lapping outside the window or lie in bed and watch the boats and ships go by.

Morris was the son of a weaver, and began golf by age ten, it is said by knocking wine bottle corks pierced with nails. He is regarded as the world's first professional golfer and  was the second-best player in St. Andrews. He was influential in establishing the Open Championship in 1860.
The memorial and grave statue pictured can be seen in the graveyard of the St Andrews Cathedral Fife.

Now a busy fishing port,  Pittenweem was once a royal burgh, having been awarded the status by King James V in 1541. It  has changed very little in the last hundred years.

Waiting in the queue for our favourite Ice cream shop which is in St Andrews. Be prepared to wait but its worth it. It has 52 flavours and now over 100 years in business passed on through the family. No visit to St Andrews is complete without a wee visit to Jannettas.
